Felix Ackermann is a historian and anthropologist trained in cultural and political studies at European University Viadrina and London School of Economics and Political Science. In Frankfurt (Oder) he co-founded in 2001 an Institute for Applied History fostering research on participatory approaches to Public History. 2008 he gained his doctoral degree with a study on ethnicity and urban space in Belarus. 2011–2016, he has been visiting DAAD associate professor for Applied Humanities at European Humanities University in Vilnius. Since 2016 he is research fellow at the German Historical Institute Warsaw.
