Emmanuel Alloa

Emmanuel Alloa (PhD Sorbonne/FU Berlin) is a philosopher and cultural theorist. After having been Postdoctoral Researcher at the NCCR iconic criticism in Basel, and Assistant Professor in Philosophy at the University of St. Gallen, he currently serves as Research Leader at St. Gallen and teaches aesthetics at the University of Paris 8. He has held Invited Visiting Fellowships and Professorships at various European and non-European institutions (Columbia University, IKKM Weimar, Morelia, Berkeley University, Italian Academy in New York, Belo Horizonte, Lyon and Vienna). In 2016, he was awarded the Prize of the International Latsis Foundation for his early academic achievements. He currently works on a project on “Transparency and its Discontents”.
